RaW 1251AM - Student Radio from the University of Warwick
Suffragette City takes a dedicated and retrospective look at the history of female music, and showcases the often overlooked legacy of its pioneers. The show focuses on a different genre or field each week, from electronica, punk, soul, ambient and beyond, as it attempts to shed new light on the female artists who paved the way for generations of innovation. In tracing the weird and wonderful explorations in sound throughout the 20th Century, the show also attempts to explore the state of music in 2012, and the women at the forefront of its ever evolving landscape.
