What is RAW?

RAW is The University of Warwick’s award-winning student multi-media organisation (primarily Radio & TV station). As a completely student-run non-profit organisation, RAW is quite literally the voice of students at the University of Warwick. We’ve been at the heart of the campus community for over 55 years, providing students with music, news, arts, speech and sports coverage, from national news to SU & Warwick Sport events. As a media group, we not only connect the campus community, but develop student presenters and journalists, with Alumni working for the BBC, ITV, Global, LBC, Bauer Media Group, Spotify and more.

All students are able to host shows and use our spaces, not only to promote their own societies, but also to kickstart their careers in the media industry and beyond. RAW is also a place to build and gain confidence and to ensure our members can always be involved, even if they wish not to host their own show, people can always guest on open shows to develop and build their radio presence. Don't fancy the on air part? Then fear not as we have deep connections with the campus and local community, which allows us to put on many events such as Live Bands, Sports Coverage, Charity Fundraising, Games Shows and more; all of which you can get involved in! Our RAW Visuals Department (formerly known as Warwick TV) means we are so much more than a radio station, providing high-quality visuals coverage, as well as content on socials, streaming services, online and more.

We are affiliated with the Student Radio Association, Student Music Network and the National Student Television Association. We’re a multi-award-winning group, having won awards for our Station Culture, acclaimed News Programmes, Tech Team, and Charity Initiatives. See the “Our Awards” section for more information about our achievements.

RAW does not just develop presenters. A huge amount of effort is involved in the day-to-day operations of RAW, from journalism, producing and research to visuals, content creation and engineering that goes into maintaining the station and developing our award-winning content.
